Soccer Fights Adversity, Beats Elder to Remain atop GCL Standings

Originally scheduled to be an Elder home game, inclement weather forced the St. Xavier Bombers and Elder Panthers to move their game on Tuesday evening to Ballaban Field at RDI Stadium.

The Bombers looked excited to be at home, taking down the Panthers by a score of 3-1.

Brady Manahan, Gio Minghettin, and Reece Heisel all netted goals in the affair as St. Xavier moved to 4-1-5 on the season and 2-0-1 in GCL play. They sit in a tie for first with the Moeller Crusaders. Elder falls to 0-3 in conference play as both teams complete their first cycle against GCL South opponents.

St. Xavier picks up play again this Saturday, September 25^th as they remain at home for an evening non-conference match with the Mason Comets. Junior varsity begins at 5:00 pm and varsity follows at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased on St. Xavier's athletic website.
